Testarossa Winery
Testarossa Winery is a producer of premier California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Los Gatos, California. As a full-time summer Marketing Design Intern at Testarossa Winery, I stepped in to cover for the in-house graphic designer during her sabbatical. Provided with a comprehensive brand guideline, I worked across digital and print platforms—updating the website, managing social media, producing photo and video content, and designing marketing collateral. After a successful summer, my role was extended and I took on more advanced and creative projects.

The Challenge
Testarossa Winery required marketing materials that balanced heritage and refinement with contemporary clarity.
The work needed to:
-
Reflect a premium brand position
-
Maintain visual consistency across touchpoints
-
Support event marketing and direct-to-consumer communication
-
Align with existing brand standards
The challenge was to create materials that felt elevated and cohesive while remaining functional and easy to produce.
The Approach
I focused on structured layouts, disciplined typography, and controlled visual hierarchy.

Key priorities:
-
Respecting established brand elements
-
Creating consistent spacing and grid structure
-
Balancing imagery with clear informational hierarchy
-
Ensuring materials could scale across formats

Winery Appellation Map
I redesigned the Santa Lucia Highlands Appellation map for Testarossa’s Los Gatos Tasting Room, aiming to create a geographically accurate and visually compelling piece aligned with the brand. Using Adobe Illustrator, I illustrated vineyard locations, then composed the layout in InDesign with curated photos and text to produce a polished, print-ready piece for guest engagement.

Wine Rub Labels
Collaborating with the merchandise manager and a production company, I designed a label for Testarossa’s house-made wine rubs.
I also photographed the products for promotional use, ensuring the final label matched brand aesthetics and technical requirements. Seeing it on display, and purchased, was a rewarding moment.

Social Media
I managed Testarossa Winery’s social media presence during my internship, creating and scheduling content that aligned with the brand’s voice and visual identity. My responsibilities included writing captions, designing posts, capturing photos and videos on-site, and monitoring engagement. Through this role, I helped maintain a consistent digital presence and strengthened the winery’s connection with its audience.

Print Marketing
Beyond digital work, I designed various print materials including newspaper ads, invitations, postcards, business cards, and signage. This allowed me to gain hands-on experience working with printers and preparing files to professional standards, bringing the brand to life in tangible form.
